The four-wheeled chariot was found in a stable area and features intricate details such as bronze and tin decorations, well-preserved iron components, and imprints of organic materials like ropes and floral adornments.

The excavation site, known as Civita Giuliana, is a suburban villa located near Pompeii, where archaeologists are working diligently to uncover its secrets while facing challenges from looters. Fortunately, the room containing the chariot had remained untouched for nearly two millennia.

The excavation team employed advanced techniques to preserve the delicate remains of the chariot, including pouring plaster into voids left by decomposed organic material to protect valuable imprints.

Massimo Osanna, the outgoing director of the archaeological park, emphasized the significance of this find, identifying it as a ceremonial chariot not meant for everyday use but for community celebrations and processions.

With 20 hectares still awaiting excavation, Pompeii continues to captivate both researchers and visitors alike, promising many more exciting discoveries in the future.
